Job Summary: AMF is looking for a fast and flexible Controls Engineer R&D to work independently on assigned projects and tasks, effectively using all available resources as needed. With all stakeholders in and outside of AMF, you will realize new implementations and problem-solving concerning the design and testing of controls systems. Together with your teammates, you will translate customer requirements into viable products.

How You Will Impact AMF:

  • Participation in all phases of (new) product development, including requirement specification, research, design, implementation, software integration, testing, and documentation
  • Design, code, test and troubleshoot applications utilizing the appropriate hardware, software platform, database, programming tools, and technology
  • Engineer technical solutions based on best practices (e.g., standard tools)
  • Provide technical documentation on the developments
  • Drive the continuous deployment and improvement of process through the Markel Business System (MBS)

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Automation, Information Technology or similar computer science or at least ten years of experience in a similar position
  • Five years or more of experience with controls engineering at a senior level in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in agile programming methodology, programming PLC’s and HMI’s (Siemens and Allen Bradley), programming drive controls and motion (Lenze / Allen Bradley / SEW / Siemens) and programming structured text or visual Basic/C++
  • Able to design hardware concepts
  • Experience in vertical communication (SCADA – MES), data analytics and PowerBI type applications
  • Familiar with lean management tools
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Capacity to influence others and take action on daily business
  • Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels in the organization and English process technologies
