Job Description:
As the leading bakery equipment supplier, we’re growing and need talented teammates like you to help us continue this journey. AMF Bakery is looking to hire a Director of IT Infrastructure. The Director of IT Infrastructure will lead AMF Bakery’s global infrastructure strategy and operations, ensuring the alignment of IT initiatives with the company’s overall business goals. This role will oversee a diverse team across multiple regions (direct and indirect reporting), manage relationships with vendors, and drive the execution of technology solutions that support the scalability, security, and efficiency of our IT operations globally.
This leader will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and collaborate closely with the broader IT, engineering, and operations teams. As a leader, you will be responsible for defining goals, assisting with coaching, and providing development planning for all direct reports. The role requires deep expertise in IT infrastructure management, IT security, leadership capabilities, and a strategic vision for leveraging technology to drive business outcomes. Additionally, this position involves hands-on troubleshooting of help desk requests and systems administration.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive global IT infrastructure strategy that aligns with AMF’s overall business objectives and supports growth, scalability, and innovation.
- IT Policies and Procedures: Responsible for enforcing, maintaining, and revising IT policies and procedures as necessary to meet the evolving nature of AMF’s IT environment. Will perform annual user access reviews.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and management of global IT infrastructure, including data centers, cloud services, network architecture, and cybersecurity systems.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global IT infrastructure team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with key IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and optimizing costs.
- Cybersecurity: Collaborate with the security team to ensure that all infrastructure solutions are designed and managed with the highest levels of security, data protection, and compliance in mind.
- Systems and Cybersecurity Auditing: Conduct regular audits of IT systems and cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Business Continuity: Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring the resilience and availability of IT systems globally.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in IT infrastructure, driving innovation and the adoption of cutting-edge solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business units, including operations, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure that IT infrastructure supports the unique needs of each department and region.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the global IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while delivering high-quality services.
- Global IT Support: Provide oversight and direction for IT support services across all AMF locations, ensuring that all teams have the technology and tools needed to succeed.
- Troubleshooting and Systems Administration: Handle troubleshooting of help desk requests and systems administration as needed.
- Licensing: Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, manage renewals, and oversee licensing management.
- Project Management: Lead and manage IT projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- IT Procurement: Oversee the procurement of IT equipment and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- IT Training: Develop and implement IT training programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Capacity Planning for IT Systems and Staffing: Plan for future IT system and staffing needs to ensure the organization is well-prepared for growth.
Required Knowledge/Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing global IT infrastructure in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Expertise in cloud computing, virtualization, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Strong vendor management experience, including contract negotiation and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing, global geographically dispersed teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and regions.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly in a manufacturing setting, is a plus.
