AMF Canada employs more than 150 employees in Sherbrooke, Quebec providing a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to be part of its team as a subcontracting and quality control coordinator.

How You Will Impact AMF:

Under the supervision of the production manager, the coordinator plans and evaluates the subcontracting needs for production. The position will ensure the development and monitoring of the quality control system for the Sherbrook facility. The person is also actively involved with the engineering and production departments in continuous improvement activities.

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Manage subcontracted projects 
  • Estimates manufacturing costs and requests quotations to analyze the different suppliers to ensure the best price/quality ratio 
  • Place orders  
  • Ensure that deadlines are met and the quality of the parts received is adequate
  • Establish effective communication channels
  • Inform department managers of plant changes and irregularities
  • Maintain performance reports
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and cost-cutting efforts

Essential Role Functions:

  • Assess existing quality procedures in different departments and ensure they fit into the processes
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions are in place to maintain the quality assurance system
  • Coordinate teams to proactively identify risks and implement measures to eliminate them
  • Execute innovative solutions to simplify processes, improve quality and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain and monitor the quality assurance system (coordination of internal and external audits)
  • Coordinate the maintenance of 5S-related activities
  • Estimate manufacturing costs

Education & Experience:

  • DEC in mechanical engineering, business management, or other relevant education
  • Min of 5 years of experience in the metal processing industry and manufacturing
  • Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Autocad and Solidworks (an asset)
  • Reading of plans
  • Write and speak advanced French and intermediate English
  • Process – machining, welding, cutting, and metal transformation
  • Good communication skills (colleagues and customer)
  • Meticulous, rigorous, and an eye for detail
  • Sense of responsibility
  • Organization and priority management
  • Ability to withstand pressure
