Job Summary:

AMF Bakery Systems is seeking a driven Team Leader that will be responsible for implementing (under the direction of the Production Manager )Problem Solving Methodology and company Talent/Performance Management System to ensure a safe work environment. The Team Leader will drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements.

How you will impact AMF (including, but not limited to):

  • Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual expectations
  • Develop and lead teammates; performance assessments, training and employment decisions
  • Assure that the team members have the necessary education and training to effectively participate in improvement teams
  • Partner with other Team Leader to balance personnel and production activities
  • Coordinate the review, presentation and release of design layouts, drawings, analysis and other documentation
  • Communicate team status, task accomplishment and direction
  • Provide status reporting of team activities against plan or schedule
  • Serve as a focal point to communicate and resolve interface and resolve issues with other teams
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the team
  • Provide guidance to the team based on management direction
  • Coordinate meetings with all stakeholders to discuss project impediments, needed resources or issues/delays in completing the task
  • Ensure rapid implementation of decisions and delivery, quality and budget adherence
  • Create culture of continuous improvement; create standardized work and processes, ensure processes are followed and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements
  • Update L1 departmental boards daily with in process work orders to include status and potential bottlenecks
  • Create Improvement teams and track progress using a visual Quality Improvement board
  • Empower team to stop and fix problems in order to get quality right the first time
  • Create a visually controlled environment to assure problems are surfaced and improvements are driven
  • Instill and maintain a positive team atmosphere; hold regular team meetings, assign team member tasks and coordinate support activities both internally and externally with the team
  • Coordinate cross training for teammates providing production continuity with backups to each position

Education/Experience (including, but not limited to):

  • Bachelor/Associate degree or a combination of education, experience and licensing
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving tools preferred
  • Ability to access and develop individual and team skills/capabilities
