Manager, Mechanical Engineering

AMF’s Netherland locations in Gorinchem, Bunschoten, and Nieuwleusen employ over 170 teammates providing a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to be part of its team as a Manager Mechanical Engineering 

The Manager will lead a team of 9 Mechanical Engineers in designing industrial ovens and handling systems for AMF Den Boer. They will improve work processes and tools to achieve operational excellence and collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders in AMF to enhance the product portfolio. The Manager will also support their teammates with career planning, learning, and development.

Primary duties:

  • Responsible for the results of the Mechanical Engineering team
  • On-time delivery of all mechanical designs of sold industrial ovens, handling systems, and other products from the AMF Den Boer portfolio
  • Plan, structure, and distribute the workload of the team of Mechanical Engineers in Bunschoten
  • Ensure mechanical designs are realized within budget and meet all requirements regarding functionality, quality, etc.
  • Make final decisions on complex technical issues
  • Coach and develop the team professionally
  • Oversee learning & development, performance reviews, talent management, succession planning, etc.
  • Contribute to global projects
  • Continuously improve mechanical designs, the process of designing, and our design tools using the Markel Business System (LEAN methods)

What you need to succeed:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable (HBO Wtb, preferably TU, or similar)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience designing in Creo, Solidworks, or similar CAD 
  • Excellent in organizing, structuring, and prioritizing the team workload
  • Experienced with FEM analyses. Some experience with thermodynamics would be an advantage

  • Fluent in written and spoken Dutch and English
