Our Richmond location in Virginia provides a dynamic work environment and a chance to join our team as a Project Manager.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess excellent communication skills. This candidate should have a proactive approach to managing client issues and making decisions. As an AMF Project Manager, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of a project, which can include single or multi-unit systems sourced from different product groups. Your responsibilities will include setting achievable deadlines, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring project deliverables fall within the specified scope and budget. This role offers exciting opportunities to travel both domestically and internationally to work closely with our customers.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders, and acting as the single AMF point of contact for customers
  • Driving all supporting parties through AMF’s “Toll Gate” project management process
  • Keeping project progress, escalating risks, and adapting work schedules as required to deliver on customer commitments
  • Ensuring projects meet budget and timeline requirements
  • Creating, modifying, and obtaining approval for bakery and machine layout drawings using AutoCAD 2D programs as necessary
  • Ensuring a project risk analysis is done and a risk mitigation plan is in place
  • Ensuring the proper management of customer change requests; that they are documented, and costs are passed to the customer appropriately
  • Working daily with AMF’s CRM and ERP systems to understand and update project status
  • Ensuring any 3rd party (i.e. OEM equipment) is ordered, integrated, and delivered for successful integration at start-up
  • Lead the installation and commissioning of projects working with the installation team leader, assigned AMF service technicians, customer contacts, and other 3rd party support teams
  • Following up with the customer to ensure all invoices are paid per agreed-upon terms
  • Conducting project closure reviews/detailed reports for Product Group leaders, Engineers, and Operations teams to provide feedback and drive continuous improvement
  • Driving improvement by utilizing Markel Business System, Lean / Six Sigma, and other Continuous Improvement tools to improve AMF’s project execution and the customer experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/Industrial) or 10 years of related industry experience
  • 5+ years of Project Management or similar experience
  • Ability to travel 25%; Up to 50% during short periods of high demand

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies
  • Working knowledge of project management techniques
  • Ability to effectively organize own schedule to ensure timely completion of multiple projects running concurrently
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet customers’ needs while following company procedures
  • Conflict resolution skills
