Teammate Spotlight: Lily Liu

Lily Liu from AMF China team competes in marathon.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to empower bakery operators or bakery teams?

We pondered this same question and discovered a team built on diversity of thought and the collaboration of various life experiences is the formula for a winning team. Our teammate spotlight blog is the corner of our site where we highlight our team, what inspires them, and what they enjoy about working at AMF.  Keep reading to learn more about our Sales Manager Lily Liu from AMF China.

What is your role at AMF China, and how long have you been there?

I have been at AMF for 13 years; I joined in November of 2007. I am the Sales Manager of AMF China and enjoy taking charge of equipment sales in China, global spare parts sales, and after-sales service assistance. When the China trade show rolls around, I get a chance to do some marketing work and translate and print brochures for the show. I joined AMF without any experience in the baking industry. During my growth with the company, I’ve had the privilege to witness the rise of China’s baking industry.

What gets you excited about AMF?

I enjoy the company culture at AMF and our success in serving clients for over 100 years. Because of our long history, we can offer quality products and services, and I am proud of that. I once had the chance to visit a client’s bakery that produced its products on AMF systems. I was awed because their equipment was older than me and still successfully made their product.

What has been your most memorable experience at AMF?

Some of my most memorable moments at AMF have come from breaking new ground and sharing that success with my teammates. At the end of 2010, we received the first order for the AMF China made Accumax Accupan System. We worked hard to build a rapport with the client and build an outstanding APEX system to their specifications. I am especially thankful for the experience because it was a great opportunity to bond with my team.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I like to stay active through sports. I began running marathons in 2018. In addition to staying in shape, I feel it’s important to give back to the communities we live in, so I’ve been volunteering for the last eight years. I am a registered volunteer in Beijing, China, and take time out every two weeks to visit older adults in nursing homes. I enjoy spending time with the elderly and making them feel understood and respected.
