Teammate Spotlight: Stephanie Ferrera

Have you ever wondered what it takes to empower bakery operators or bakery teams?

We pondered this same question and discovered a team built on diversity of thought and the collaboration of various life experiences is the formula for a winning team. Our teammate spotlight blog is the corner of our site where we highlight our team, what inspires them, and what they enjoy about working at AMF.  Keep reading to learn more about our Mechanical Engineer from AMF BakeTech, Stephanie Ferrera.

What is your role at AMF BakeTech, and what do you enjoy about it?

I began my career at AMF BakeTech two years ago. Like many mechanical engineers, I’m curious, and I thought the role seemed like it would be a good fit for that part of my personality because of the wide range of equipment I’d get to design. I love that my job gives me ample opportunity always to be working on something new. I design continuous proofer and oven systems, and on occasion, I design conveyors. I appreciate the fact that I am always learning something new.

Tell us about an accomplishment you are proud of.

One of my fondest career memories was when I witnessed one of my 2D designs installed for the first time. I am proud of the contributions I’ve made during my time at AMF BakeTech, and I strive to experience more firsts.

Tell us about a unique experience you’ve had.

Thus far, one of the more unique experiences on my life journey was undergoing brain surgery a few years back. It was a wild experience, but one that I am thankful for. It taught me to enjoy myself as much as possible and not sweat the small stuff.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Work-life balance is important to me, so I like to spend my time with family and friends when I’m not designing proofer and oven systems. It wouldn’t be a surprise if you found me shopping for bargains at TJ Maxx or Marshalls and enjoying a fruity margarita afterward on the weekend.
